Kerry Washington / Jessica Alba on the “We Are The Ones” Video Set

With as much energy as the adorable Shih Tzu puppy she was holding, Kerry Washington’s smile lit up the Hollywood set of the dipdive.com “We Are The Ones” video supporting Barack Obama. The 31-year-old actress has been extremely active in Obama’s presidential campaign, following his trail from South Carolina to California, Colorado, Tennessee, Arkansas and Wisconsin. “I’ve been a surrogate for Barack Obama,” she smiled. “I’m heading to Texas and Ohio next week.”
As an enthusiastic political participant, Washington has strong opinions on what makes the Illinois Senator so exceptional. “He’s bringing people to the table who have never been involved before,” she raved. “He inspires people to participate.”
Washington is just one example of the many people that Obama has stirred, as he turns hope into reality on the political horizon. Washington’s Fantastic Four co-star Jessica Alba was also on hand to show her support. “I think he has the clearest idea of the changes he’s going to make when he comes into office,” the pregnant actress opined. “He seems to be connected to the people and the needs of the people in our country.”

Because she’s only a few months from bringing a child into the world, it made sense that Alba spoke the most passionately about Obama’s stance on youth education and health care reform. “There’s no way to have our country thrive if we’re not educating kids in our country properly,” she said. “And we need better health care across the board. It’s terribly expensive and not very good compared to other countries that don’t have nearly the amount of money we have.”
Although other Democratic presidential candidates have similar views on necessary reformations, Alba thinks that Obama’s dedication to the American public distinguishes him from the rest. “He’s about seeing real change and he has the people’s interests — as opposed to big business — truly in mind. I think most of his money comes from private money so he’s not relying on huge corporations to fund his campaign and back him as much as the other candidates.”
Kerry Washington, on the other hand, believes in Obama’s integrity. “What inspired me to become involved in his campaign is that he brings an enormous amount of authenticity to the table,” she smiled proudly.
Although the two actresses have different reasons why they believe that Obama should become our nation’s next president, they both agree on one thing; “He’s about uniting the country,” said Alba, echoing a sentiment that Washington also spoke about. “That’s a big deal.” — Erin Darling

Thank you.
#1.Hillary’s track record may be worse than we have now. In her own words of Failure & Blame:

#2. Your point of broad Obama support should be emphasised. NO cantidate in American history has gotten 1 million Americans do make private donations to his cause. These small donations from people, who have often little, should be a larger point in the campaign. He will be our president, we want him so much we have put our widows mites behind him. (Recall the Bible story of the wodow who gives 2 cents and the Wealthy Man that give much, her gift was more precious because it was all she had…)
#3. Here is a video, of a level headed white man changing his mind to vote for Obama, compelling.

#4. TODAY: Hillary’s newest ad is reminicent of Regan’s Bear ad to get votes by scaring us with fears of the russians.

Oh word…
First, thanks to those who participated in the making of this video. Every little bit helps and is appreciated.
Regarding the video content… the “O-BAM-A” chant may remind some viewers of the “Obama cult” meme being thrown about, but, putting aside that nonsense, the chant would seem to be in stark contrast to the message of the video, that “We are the ones” we’ve been waiting for and who will enable change.
(Though it might be a bit tough to do a “We are the ones” video without sounding like the “We are the World” group sings for Africa, from the ’80s.)
I’m sorry, But I do not like the new video, at all.
The first one was great. it spoke of hope.
The only thing I get from this new video is, “We’re minorities….You owe us!”
Sorry, I’m white, I owe no one anything.
Nice try though.

Dude, that’s some guilty conscience you have there. I’m as white as a slice of Wonder Bread and I didn’t see that theme anywhere. Maybe my tinfoil beanie wasn’t tilted just right?
You can say it wasn’t to your liking. That’s fine. But don’t go making up lame reasons to hate on it.
Ahh, jeez, Chuck. Gonna take the ball and go home? Just because you didn’t like the video? Sorry, I’m white too. Looks like you are the minority here.

the video is beautiful as well as inspiring. My only worry is that Obama signed up to run for president and now this run is turning into something even bigger. The video brought tears to my eyes and I really hope that these good feelings will translate into making our country BETTER.
After 8 years of suffering bush, this country and the world NEEDS this movement that is Obama. A mere ‘president’ is not enough.
when is the 12 inch single coming out of these 2 songs? I would love to have a vinyl record of em.
Both these videos are awesome. I get goosebumps every time I watch them.
People need to believe we can have change. We just need to do our part and vote.
And Chuck from a few posts back… I don’t understand where you are coming from on the “you owe us” part. I didn’t get that vibe at all. And yes, I am white too. Like Lon says, I think you are the minority here.
Thanks again for the wonderful, inspiring videos of hope!
I think that this best says it all:

Thanks.
HA
Both videos are brilliant.
It would be great to release these and/or the songs (even if only through iTunes or similar) and raise money for some appropriately worthy cause (e.g. US Red Cross, Americas Second Harvest Food Bank Network, EarthJustice.org or…..) to help the most disadvantaged in our society (man and beast) and give them some hope.
Cheers!
I don’t appreciate this video. The first video was nice because it was encouraging for morale and change. This video feels as if big time celebrities are trying to manipulate viewers to vote for Obama. I respect endorsements by individuals who have political background, something with substance. It discourages people to do their own research and it plays on people’s emotions. If people really want to make a difference do your homework, don’t be lazy and quit expecting one man, a president, to do the change for you. This country is not a dictatorship, it is a democracy. Charitable hearts of people have to extend to action and not words. It takes a country to change not one man to change a country. Chanting “Obama” is no way to change the world. It depends on us as individuals. It is just sad that this video comes out only as a marketing tool to get votes for Obama. If a genuine feeling of change and good will for our country was legit, these videos would of been surfacing long before these elections.
My teacher plays these videos everyday in our english class, they inspire us to get up and vote, and inspire us to obtain knnowlege about this election. As seniors in high school we are 17 and 18 years old and ready for this election. We are also curious about why so many people are inspired by Barack Obama. So we did reaserch and found out. We would like to thank whoever put this video up, and thank all of the celebrities for catching our intrest. (we are the ones)
p.s. who is that woman in the beginning of the video harmonizing? She is amazing.
Please. Just say it again.
Yes we can.
At the beginning of the video the very talented Zoe Kravitz is singing. You can look her up on http://www.imdb.com She is the daughter of Lisa Bonet (remember the Denise Huxtible on the Cosby show?) and Lenny Kravitz., so it is easy to see where her talent got the spark. What a beautiful voice she has. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing more from her in the future.
Also, like many others who really love this video, is there any way to download / purchase it?
THIS VIDEO INSPIRES AND YES WILSON JUST BEING PRESIDENT IS NOT ENOUGH WE NEED THIS MOVMENT WE WILL EITHER COME TOGETHER AS AMERICANS OR WE WILL DIE AS INDIVISUALS
